Colonie Central High School Executive Principal Mr. Kachadurian announced his move up the education ladder as he takes on the role of Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.

Transitioning into the district office means he will lose his direct connection and collaboration with students. However, Kachadurian will be working behind the scenes on providing more opportunities for students and their activities through securing grant money.

In this new position, Kachadurian will have the chance to interact with the younger student population and watch them grow throughout their entire academic career with Colonie. This also allows for connection between elementary and high school teachers. His goal is to reach success in mutual goals and build relationships throughout the district.

“You have to be cognizant and conscious of how you want to spend your day to make sure students are a part of it,” Kachadurian said.

Kachadurian has been looking at data from younger students and taking note of where improvements need to be made but also where there is success.

Stemming from his competitive nature, Kachadurian says, “I want to do the job I have the best I possibly can, but specifically I want to bring us up to the top five of suburban council schools if not number one.”

Being so invested in plans in the high school has made this transition difficult, but Kachadurian has many developing initiatives he hopes to implement and work on with the new principal.

This new position will allow him to gain new experiences and opportunities that he has not yet had in his career. Adapting to the new environment will have its challenges, but that's a part of the learning experience.

Students will be able to have more opportunities and the activities they look forward to every year. Kachadurian's transition will bring ample benefits to the future of Colonie and the students and staff that make it a home.
